St Hilda's College is a residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne.

History Edit

It was established in 1888 to provide the needs of the increasing number of young Methodist and Presbyterian women who were coming to Melbourne to study.

In 2014, the college celebrated their 50th anniversary with a series of reunions and celebratory events.

Architecture Edit

When first established as a college for women, when all the residential colleges were single-sex residences, St Hilda's was the first at University of Melbourne to become co-residential in 1973.

Sport Edit

St Hilda's College participates in the Intercollegiate Sporting Council competition. The sports available to all of the residents are:

  • Women's Softball
  • Athletics
  • Men's Cricket
  • Swimming
  • Rowing
  • Hockey

Cultural Edit

St Hilda's participate in a range of cultural activities including:

  • O Week
  • Battle of the Bands
  • Trivia Night

St Hilda's College Ball Edit

Each year, St Hilda's College hosts their annual ball which raises funds for a charity of the colleges choice.

In 2016, they raised funds for the Lighthouse Foundation.
